Submitting Applications
To express interest in available employment opportunities applicants must apply to each available employment opportunity for consideration. It is important that your application show all relevant education and experience you possess. Incomplete applications will be rejected. Applications received will remain active during the full recruitment period.
The City prefers applications to be submitted electronically through CalOpps, but a hard-copy application will be accepted. Applications and supplemental documents can be emailed to the City Clerk, sent by fax to (559) 665-7418, or hand-delivered or mailed to City Clerk, City of Chowchilla, 130 S Second Street, Chowchilla, CA 93610.
Applications for Police Department employment opportunities may require a different submission address.
All material must be submitted so it will be received by the application deadline. IMPORTANT: Postmarks are not accepted as qualifying to meet the application deadline.

Selection Process
All applicants will be assessed on the fully completed and signed application along with any supplemental materials that are submitted. This information will be carefully evaluated. Resumes are an important screening tool. Applications (when required) that are not accompanied by resumes (optional if not required) may be more difficult to assess. Do not substitute any part of the application form with the words "see resume." Incomplete applications will be rejected. All required certifications and education requirements will be verified. All materials submitted becomes the property of the City of Chowchilla.
Only those candidates who best meet the qualifications will be invited to participate in the selection process that may be administered by written examination, oral interview, or any combination as deemed to be appropriate for the position. Successful candidates on this part of the process will be placed on an eligibility list, valid for one year. The top candidates will be invited for an interview.
The City Clerk's Office will make reasonable accommodations in the examination process for disabled applicants. If you have special needs, please indicate such on your application. Verification of the disability may be required prior to accommodation.
Employment Examinations & Verification
As a condition of employment with the City of Chowchilla a candidate must pass an employment medical examination and drug test provided by a health care professional designated by the City.
You will be required to submit verification of your identity and citizenship or legal right to work in the United States as required by law.
