Commissions and Committees
Commissions and committees are integral to the foundation of our community, which assist the City Council in making critical policy decisions that impact the community. These groups research, study, and discuss specific issues with short- and long-term implications. Their recommendations are then forwarded to the Council for their consideration and action.
Citizen input is essential to the success of local government. The discussions and recommendations from Boards and Commissions are critical to maintaining quality services to the Chowchilla community. Click the links below to learn more about the current Commissions and Committees.
These are voluntary positions. To be eligible, a citizen must reside in the city limits of Chowchilla, unless otherwise noted, and be a registered voter. The terms of office are determined for each board, commission, and committee, and members may serve consecutive terms.
The City Council appoints new members and reappoints incumbent members to open positions at the beginning of each calendar year, as needed, to fill necessary vacancies that occur throughout the year.
