Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is the body that reviews development proposals for compliance with the General Plan and makes recommendations to City Council in the following areas:

  • Long-range plans and maps for the City and plans for public improvements
  • Plans and development plans
  • Zoning and rezoning of property

The Commission consists of seven members appointed by the City Council. Regular meetings are held monthly at 5:00 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall on the third Wednesday of each month.

Members of the Planning Commission must be a registered voter in the City of Chowchilla, and members are required to submit a financial disclosure statement (Statement of Economic Interests - Form 700) under the State of California laws.

Meeting Agendas and Minutes

Meeting agenda packets are posted to the City website and include the agenda and staff reports. It is a preliminary draft of the agenda packet, meaning that it is subject to change until 72 hours before the meeting. Please feel free to contact the Community and Economic Development Department office at (559) 665-8615, ext. 787, to confirm if any changes have been made to the agenda after it has been posted to the City website.
